I have recently returned from a 5 day trip to Iceland, and what a beautiful country it is. We were fortunate to have some great weather whilst we there, which made for some great landscapes.

Iceland: The Blue Lagoon

The Blue Lagoon is a Geothermal Spa in Iceland.The waters temperature is 37-39°C / 98-102°F. The lagoon holds six million liters of geothermal seawater, which is renewed every 40 hours. Here are some photos from our time at this wonderful scenic place.

The Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis). We took a couple of trips out to try and find the northern lights during our stay in Iceland. We were unlucky the first night with too much cloud cover, but the 2nd attempt we were much more fortunate....

The English word geyser to describe a spouting hot spring derives from Geysir. We managed to see these sprouting hot springs during a glorious sunset over Iceland.

Iceland: Glacier Walking

We managed to have a day walking on a glacier in southern Iceland today... the views were simply stunning and the air was so clean. After trekking with our crampons, we even managed to have a go at ice climbing.

I managed to get up for sunrise one morning, and found a great location on the east coast, called Flamborough Head. With the right light, right tide, and right conditions it makes a stunning shot!

A few of the hidden treasures we managed to find during our week in Yorkshire. The waterfall was particularly hard to reach, after an hours rugged terrain trek with Jessica on my back, but it was well worth it.
